TRAIL TO ANTEQUERA BEACH + BOAT
Nestled in the Anaga massif we find Antequera beach, a hidden natural paradise in the middle of the Biosphere Reserve that today is one of those places in Tenerife capable of maintaining its original beauty..
Access to this remote area means enjoying a fun experience that combines hiking and some beach time before returning by boat to the starting point. It resumes in enjoying Tenerife from a local perspective. The trail to Antequera beach is highly recommended, as much or more than the descent of the Masca ravine.
This hiking route begins at Las Teresitas beach where we will get into the van that will take us to the summit of Anaga, an enclave wrapped in the best representation of laurel forest of the island.
From what is known as Lomo de las Bodegas (in Chamorga) we will start walking down the trail to Antequera beach through it´s ravine leaving behind small hamlets and ridges that open out to the sea before reaching a wonderful virgin beach.
Once the trail to Antequera beach is completed we will have free time to rest and enjoy a well-deserved swim in the clean waters of the Atlantic before taking the boat back to Las Teresitas beach. This second part of the experience will allow us to see the northeast coast of Tenerife and part of the impressive cliffs of Anaga.
The scheduled times for this activity of walking along the path to Antequera beach are as follows:
• 08:30 hrs. Pick up in San Andrés. Transfer to the starting point of the trail (Chamorga).
• 10:00 hrs. We begin the trail to Antequera beach.
• 13:00 hrs. Arrival at the beach where we will have free time for a swim.
• 15:30 hrs. Pick up the boat at Antequera beach. We leave by boat towards San Andrés.

To carry out the trail to Antequera beach, it is recommended to use mountain shoes for this activity and hiking poles. Also, warm clothing, sun protection, enough drinking water, swimwear and food should be part of the backpack. In Antequera there are no bars so it is not possible to refill water or buy something to eat during this route (keep this in mind when planning what to bring to eat and drink).
The trail to Antequera beach has a medium difficulty and lasts approximately 3 hours, including 2 steep sections. It can be hard for those with knee or joint problems. That said, there are no dangerous or vertigo areas. The total route is around 3.5 km.
Courtesy waiting time is 15 minutes. Delaying the activity means enjoying less time on the beach, so we can only wait a maximum of 15 minutes. courtesy (as long as we are notified of the delay).
